Fort Frederick State Park is incredibly popular with people of Big Pool. Don't desert your kitty   in your house, pet animals are allowed; there are tent sites here where you can pitch a tent. Among the things you can do close to Fort Frederick State Park are hiking, swimming, whitewater paddling, fishing, and playing golf, so it's impossible to get bored. The West Virginia 9 to McCoy's Ferry portion is a magnificent 8-mile-in-distance type II(III) stretch of whitewater on Back Creek. It can be said that this stretch of Back Creek is a site for fun whitewater boating. Check conditions previous to going on the whitewater, otherwise it's not safe. There is a splendid hiking trail close to Fort Frederick State Park called the Plank Trail, and if you're visiting from Big Pool, you won't be   the only one.
