The Trading Post Canoe, Kayak & Campground is located just west of Mongo, Indiana on the Pigeon River. With a modern fleet of over 200 canoes and kayaks, we can host large groups and individuals alike. We have 6 canoe and kayak river trip options, all which travel through the 13,000 acres of the Pigeon River Fish & Wildlife Area, one of the most scenic state-owned properties in Indiana. The Pigeon River is a beautiful, lazy river in Northern Indiana. It is a meandering flat-water river ranging in depth from 1 to 5 feet and with a speed of 3-4 mph.

Whether you prefer a short excursion or an all day outing, come to the Trading Post for a unique an exciting adventure that the whole family will enjoy. You can get back to nature and forget about the cares of the everyday world. An abundance of wildlife can be seen along the wooded river banks, such as deer, wild turkey, beaver, otter, and a large variety of bird life and waterfowl. For the fishermen, you will enjoy a variety of bass, trout, pike, and catfish. Whether you're a nature lover, fisherman, or just looking for an outing with friends, the Trading Post Canoe, Kayak & Campground is the place to be!

Our campground is situated on the same property as the canoe and kayak rental operation. We have approximately 65 sites, including electric, primitive, and group areas, all of which have access to indoor showers and restroom facilities. Our campsites border the river and our inland pond. Snacks, drinks, ice, firewood, camping supplies and gear, and apparel are available at the camp store.

We are a seasonal business and generally host canoe and kayak trips April through October. We do have an extended camping season through November. During the summer weekends, paddling and camping are very popular, so call ahead to make an easy reservation.
