This is a category II-III, 2.6-mile-from-beginning-to-end bit of whitewater. This sector of Little River is proposed for whitewater boaters of medium experience. Whitewater rapids are dangerous things, so you must check circumstances in advance of a trip. Good hiking is available along the Vista Trail, and a tremendous zoo in close proximity to Townsend   - Great Smokies KOA is Smoky Mountain Zoological Park; they have loads of pretty animals.
