If by chance you don’t want to risk getting drenched this sweep of Flat Shoal River is probably not for you. Whitewater rapids are perilous phenomenons, so you ought to check conditions before heading out. There's good hiking along the Winding Stairs Trail,   and for all you boaters, Harbor Light Marina South is a magnificent marina in the neighborhood.
