There's more to do close to Clearwater - Wilderness Gateway other than just hanging out such as whitewater paddling, and hiking, so you won’t run out of things to do. There's a good category IV sweep of whitewater nearby on Fish Creek, the 1.5-mile-long Forest Service Road to Lochsa River sector. Generally this sweep of Fish Creek is an amusing spot for whitewater kayaking and rafting. Unsurprisingly, whitewater kayaking and rafting is enjoyable but   risky; check current conditions prior to departure.
