If you don’t want to risk getting covered with water this section of Sand Run is in all probability not for you. You must check current conditions ahead of going; whitewater rafting and kayaking may get hazardous. A spree to Holly River State Park when you're here at Zickefoose is never a bad idea, and Zickefoose is not far at all from Buckhannon. There is a glorious hiking trail in the vicinity of Zickefoose called the Reverie Trail, and if   you're a golfer then a great nearby course is Buckhannon Country Club. This is such a glorious campground.
