There's a fine 17-mile-in-distance type II-IV(V+) whitewater section on Pedernales River nearby, the Johnson City to Pedernales Falls SP sector. For skilled whitewater boaters this section of Pedernales River is an exciting location to run. For your protection you have to always check the situation   before going whitewater rafting and kayaking.
