There is a game room for staying entertained; there's a delightful restaurant here that makes delightful food. North River has a class I(II) bit of whitewater close by. The 17-mile-in-length Mo. County Road 530 to Highway 61 bridge section is pleasant to kayak. For those inexperienced in whitewater boating this bit of North River may be a cool place to kayak. For your protection you ought to always check current conditions in advance of going whitewater boating. Salt River Resort is a location with many visitors from Monroe City, and hiking is a popular thing   to do around Salt River Resort; Lick Creek Trail is a perfect local trail.
