There are 18 ski trails to choose from and 4 different ski lifts at the nearby ski hill Hickory Ski   Center. Hickory Ski Center gets on average 3 feet of fluffy snow every winter and has a great 1,280-foot drop. About 50% of the ski trails covering the 200 acres of skiable land at Hickory Ski Center are challenging while 50% of the ski trails are blue and green. Skiers like Hickory Ski Center; it's a great ski hill. The 4.5-mile-from-start-to-finish Above Diprill Road bridge to G section is a class III-IV section of whitewater on Glen Creek. It can be said that this bit of Glen Creek is a place for fun whitewater rafting and kayaking. Don't go whitewater rafting and kayaking ahead of first checking restrictions; it's dangerous stuff. Burch Brook is a wonderful stream that is worth checking   out.
