Clear   Creek is prized by the folks from Darrington. Near Clear Creek is a good 4-mile-in-length sweep of whitewater on Sauk River, a class II-III, this is the Clear Creek to Darrington sector. The Clear Creek to Darrington sector of Sauk River is suitable for paddlers who have been kayak paddling for a bit but who are not yet set for the very hazardous rapids. Naturally, kayak paddling is amusing but hazardous; check restrictions previous to going. A wonderful 6.2-mile-in-distance beautiful backpacking and hiking trail featuring a variation between top and bottom of 2,658 feet can be found close at hand; this is the Finney Peak Trail. Hiking the Finney Peak Trail, a hard backpacking and   hiking trail, necessitates approximately one day. Gotta ski! Mt.Baker is a good place to do that.
