This, the Close to Mouth of Wilson section, is a grade III-V+. The Close to Mouth of Wilson section   of Big Wilson Creek is suited for whitewater paddlers who have been paddling for a while. In case you are going paddling, you should always check circumstances. Haw Orchard Mountain is pretty and can be seen from Wise Shelter - Appalachian Trail, and you can go for a hike on the Third Peak Trail. A game of bowling is exciting at nearby Cardinal Lanes, and if the weather is splendid, you can go for a hike along the Scales Trail. This campground is a beautiful spot to stop by. Don't leave Wise Shelter - Appalachian Trail without popping by Hungry Mother State Park, and the Lewis Fork Trail is a pleasant hiking trail nearby. Going for a perfect fishing trip at Miller Fishing & Hunting is always   enjoyable, and there is a great hiking trail nearby called the First Peak Trail.
