Lower Twin in Virginia is exactly the place. Near Lower Twin is a splendid 2-mile-long segment of whitewater on Pound River, a type I-II(III), this is the Route 739 to Route 611 segment. This segment of Pound River is advised for whitewater boaters of medium experience. For your security you have to always check current conditions in advance of going kayak paddling. In the event that the children are too restless just take them to Poplar Gap Park and let them play some cool video games. If you have a boat, Appalachian Marina is an outstanding marina; do go to Fishtrap Lake, it's a beautiful lake. This campground is always   a pleasure.
