There's a tremendous grade III-IV sweep of whitewater nearby on Cow Creek, the 9.5-mile-from-beginning-to-end FM 1174 to FM 1431 section. This sweep of Cow Creek is not a place for novices to come whitewater rafting or kayaking single-handedly. Unsurprisingly, whitewater rafting or kayaking is exciting but risky; check conditions in advance of a trip. Some of the water close by flows, like Camp Creek, and you don’t have to go far from Camp Creek to catch a sight of the water at Lewis Dam. Going for a horse ride at nearby Colbert Ranch is always a fun thing to do.
