| | from near and far. 3 feet of great snow fall yearly on the 8 slopes of Ober Gatlinburg. This close by ski resort has a height difference of 600 feet and has 3 good ski lifts. 75% of the slopes at Ober Gatlinburg are beginner and intermediate. Of the 38 acres of skiing territory 25% is challenging; there's something for everybody at Ober Gatlinburg. Little River has a class III-IV stretch of whitewater close by. The 2.2-mile-long Huskey Gap Branch to Elkmont C.Highway segment is glorious to kayak. This stretch of Little River is well suited for whitewater boaters who have been whitewater rafting or kayaking for a period of time but who are not yet prepared for the truly risky rapids. | |
