There's more to do right next door to Long Bend other than just hanging out such as fishing, whitewater paddling, swimming, and playing golf, so getting bored is not something that is likely to happen.       Loads of folks stay at Long Bend for the purpose of being close to Deschutes River Recreation Area. There's a magnificent 0.25-mile-from-start-to-finish category V whitewater part on White River close by, the Celestial Falls segment.   You are probable to get wet whitewater rafting or kayaking this part of White River, so you should be set for that. Unsurprisingly, whitewater rafting or kayaking is fun but treacherous; check conditions in advance of a trip. At Long Bend you always meet someone from City of The Dalles; when you're here it's always fun to take a look at White River Falls State Park. Long Bend is not the only place close by, Pine Hollow Reservoir is a close by lake. Long Bend is next to Deschutes River Recreation Area which is a lovely place; you could always explore Lousey Hollow. Enjoy a round of golf at Desert Peaks Golf Club not far from Long Bend; catch sizeable fish at nearby Riffle Fly Shop.
