A class I-III, 4.2-mile-in-distance whitewater segment can be found on nearby Tenmile, the South Dover NY to Gaylordsville Ct portion. The South Dover NY to Gaylordsville Ct portion of Tenmile is appropriate for kayak paddlers who have been whitewater paddling for some time but who are not yet set for the incredibly risky rapids. Whitewater rapids are  
risky occurrences, so you must check restrictions in advance of a trip. Go and check out several very beautiful animals at Trevor Zoo, a nice zoo in the neighborhood of Wiley Shelter - Appalachian Trail.
