Johnson Mesa is right by the Divide Trail; if you're stopping by from Montezuma, you won't be the only one. But wait, there's more exciting things to do in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Take a hike on the Santa Barbara Angostura Trail, and you absolutely have to visit Morphy Lake State Park since you're here. This is a great campground. The Gascon Trail offers hiking at its best, and Storrie Lake State Park is a perfect site to stop by on a wonderful day. While you're here at Johnson Mesa and you want to take a horse ride, you could check out   Crcles Stables.
