Such a delightful choice of attractions and so many things to do are sure to keep you coming back many times. While going to this region in Michigan it's a glorious idea to go camping too. If you're trying to find a category I-IV whitewater stretch to paddle, you're in luck; the Newberry Road to S Laird Road portion is a magnificent 4.4-mile-long piece of Sturgeon River - West Branch. This portion of Sturgeon River - West Branch is a mid difficulty stretch for whitewater paddling. Don't go whitewater paddling in advance of first checking circumstances; it's treacherous stuff. | |

Twin Lakes State Park is a good site to stretch your legs a bit. The North Country National Scenic Trail is a pleasant hiking trail close to Courtney Lake, and sites like Ottawa National Forest are pleasant to check out.
