Whitewater rapids are treacherous matters, so you must check conditions ahead of going. While you're here at King Lake State Forest Campground you can take a hike along the Pelkie Creek Hunter Walking Trails; lots of folks from Covington come  
here. In case you would like to get out on the water, Best Western Baraga Lakeside Inn is nearby. Don't leave King Lake State Forest Campground without visiting Baraga State Park, and head out on the pretty water at Ojibwa Marina.
