A close by type I-II(III) whitewater run can be encountered on Ontonagon River - Middle   Branch; the Burned Dam Camp Ground to Bond Falls Flowage segment is 8.4 miles long. When the conditions are right this run of Ontonagon River - Middle Branch is an amusing run of river for whitewater boating. Don't go whitewater boating in advance of first checking restrictions; it's risky business. Taylor Creek is a pretty stream that is worth taking a look at. Everybody loves Nicolet National Forest; you can go for a hike on the Anvil Lake Trail System. A campground like this is too great to miss. A golf course right next door to Taylor Lake is Big Sand Lake Golf Course; Ski Brule is a fine local ski area. Near Taylor Lake you find a golf course called Lac Vieux Desert Golf Course; a game of   bowling is fun at close by Logger's Alley.
