Nearby you come upon the Millinocket Lake to Libby Camp segment, a category I-III section of whitewater. It's a delightful 9-mile-from-beginning-to-end section on Millinocket Stream. In general this section of Millinocket Stream is an enjoyable place for whitewater kayaking or rafting. For your protection you must always check circumstances in advance of going whitewater kayaking or rafting. Tote Road, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at close by Big Squaw. A lot of fun is at this campground. Going for a hike on the Matagamon Tote Road is always a great adventure, and if you're looking for a beach close by we recommend Gilman Beach.
