Don't leave Baxter State Park - Katahdin Stream without first going for a hike along the Abol Trail. Peaks-Kenny State Park is both great and scenic, and it's close to Baxter State Park - Katahdin Stream, and Big Squaw is a good local ski area. At Baxter State Park - Katahdin Stream you can see Barren Mountain, and there are great sites to discover along the Abot Trail.
