Penobscot River - South Branch has a magnificent 17.5-mile-from-start-to-finish grade I-II
 whitewater stretch close by, the Bridge to Canada Falls Dam segment. It's most likely ok to go whitewater boating on this stretch of Penobscot River - South Branch even if you believe your whitewater boating abilities aren't very magnificent. Don't go whitewater boating before first checking restrictions; it's hazardous business. There are good places to look at along the Bald Mountain Trail; it's a pleasant idea to take a look at Cunningham Brook. A spree to Lily Bay State Park when you're here at Penobscot River Corridor - Birch Point is a great idea, and if you want to play some golf, you're in luck because MT Kineo Golf Course is in the vicinity. This is such a fun place for a campground.  
Go for a hike on the Sally Mountain Trail, and going for a hike on the Alder Brook Trail is always a great adventure. Penobscot River Corridor - Birch Point gets a normal amount of annual rainfall.
