Catamount close by is a tremendous   ski hill featuring a glorious 1,000-foot vertical drop served by 7 good ski lifts; it has 29 ski trails and gets 7 feet of beautiful snow every season. The 105 acres of ski terrain at Catamount is prized by skiers from far and wide. Catamount has 30% hard ski trails and 70% beginner and intermediate ski trails. There's a tremendous class IV-V+ section of whitewater nearby on Bash Bish Brook, the 0.6-mile-long Below Bash Bish Falls to Copake Falls segment. This part of Bash Bish Brook is delightful for those with lots of whitewater practice. Check restrictions prior to departure on the whitewater, or else it's not safe and sound. Go for a hike on the Elbow Trail, and going for a hike on   the Indian Trail is always a pleasant adventure.
