Nearby there is a tremendous 7-mile-from-beginning-to-end class II-III whitewater bit, the South Royalston to Athol segment of Millers River. When the conditions are right this bit of Millers River is an exciting bit of river for whitewater paddling. Whitewater kayaking or rafting could become hazardous, so check the latest conditions before you go. Everybody loves Otter River State Forest, and Beaman Brook is one of the streams close by that might be worth a visit.
