| | You find the 4-mile-from-beginning-to-end Clear Creek to Main Salmon confluence segment of Panther Creek nearby; this is a grade III whitewater stretch. This stretch of Panther Creek is a fun stretch for kayak paddling. Check current conditions prior to departure on the whitewater, or else it's not secure. Take a hike on the Pretty Gulch Trail, and Painted Rocks State Park is a gorgeous place any time of year. Whohoo, so many entertaining things in one place! The Salmon River Mountains is so good! Sagebrush Lookout Trail; Salmon National Forest is a glorious place to stretch your legs a bit. If the weather is great here at Clear Creek Trailhead, you can go for a hike along the Copper Mountain Trail, and close by you come across Wire Gulch which is a tremendous spot to pop by.
