You need to get out of the house, and Elk Summit, Idaho is a great place for getting out. There is so much entertaining stuff to do near       Elk Summit, and campgrounds like these are great. The perfect choice of local attractions, and the perfect variety of outdoors recreation are glorious reasons to come. If you love the outdoors, you won’t be saddened; there's   swimming, hiking, whitewater paddling, and fishing, so you won’t run out of things to do. Elk Summit is to be found in the Bitterroot Range. Nearby you bump into the Dolph Creek to Selway River portion, a category III-IV stretch of whitewater. It's a good 22-mile-from-start-to-finish stretch on Moose Creek. The Dolph Creek to Selway River portion of Moose Creek is well suited for whitewater paddlers who have been whitewater rafting and kayaking for a bit but who are not yet ready for the very hazardous rapids. Whitewater rapids are hazardous things, so you have to check current conditions before heading out. Going for a hike on the Granite Ridge Trail is always a great adventure,   and Upper Bear Lake is a nearby lake that you could check out.
