There's more to do in close proximity to Divide Trailhead other than just hanging out such as fishing, swimming, hiking, and whitewater paddling, so getting bored is not something that is likely to happen. Trailhead in Idaho is a really wonderful place to spend some time. Lots of people choose this campground when going to Painted Rocks State Park. The good variety of local attractions and all the outdoors recreation are pleasant
| | incentives to come. Divide Trailhead is a great campground to use as a base while enjoying the Bitterroot Range. A good 4-mile-from-beginning-to-end whitewater part on Panther Creek is close by. This, the Clear Creek to Main Salmon confluence segment, is a category III. This segment of Panther Creek is well suited for raft paddlers who have been whitewater kayaking or rafting for a period of time but who are not yet set for the genuinely hazardous rapids. You must check the situation in advance of a trip; whitewater kayaking or rafting may become hazardous. Going for a hike on the Coal Ridge Trail is always a great adventure; you'll stumble on a beautiful lake called Lake of the Rocks. | |

So much amusing stuff in the Bitterroot Range, just unbelievable. The Sheepeater Trail is a great hiking trail near Divide Trailhead, and a tour to Painted Rocks State Park is a wonderful idea.
