This campground is one of the great spots to camp here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. As if Lodgepole Overflow wasn't enough, you can also go hiking, whitewater paddling,
 swimming, and fishing, so you won’t get bored. Quite a lot of fun stuff to do close to Lodgepole Overflow, and it is a great campground.
Bear Valley, the nearby ski area has 11 ski lifts and has 30 feet of ice cold snow every year on its 67 runs. The vertical drop is 1,900 feet at Bear Valley. About 35% of the runs covering the 1,280 acres of skiable area at Bear Valley are demanding while 65% of the runs are beginner and intermediate. Skiers love Bear Valley; it's a splendid ski area. On Mokelumne River - North Fork close by you find the 24.9-mile-long Route 4 Bridge to Salt Springs Reservoir sector of grade V+ whitewater. This sweep of Mokelumne River - North Fork is well suitable
 
for those expert in kayak paddling. Don't go kayak paddling in advance of first checking the situation; it's perilous stuff.
