Near Lodgepole is a great 7.5-mile-in-distance segment of whitewater on   Yuba River - South Fork, a class IV-V(V+), this is the Cisco Grove to Spaulding Reservoir segment. This part of Yuba River - South Fork is great for those with a good deal of whitewater knowledge. Check conditions prior to departure on the whitewater, or else it's not secure. Mears Lake Valley Trail has a difference in altitude of 863 feet; this picturesque backpacking and hiking trail is 2.1 miles from beginning to end. You should schedule two hours to walk the demanding Mears Lake Valley Trail. Big Valley Trail is a lovely hiking and backpacking trail; it's 2.8 miles long and has an elevation difference of 1,052 feet. When you're backcountry hiking the lovely Big Valley Trail you have   to set aside around three hours for the backcountry trek.
