So many local attractions and all the outdoors recreation are pleasant reasons to come. A good 7.29-mile-in-distance whitewater section on Jones   Creek is nearby. This, the Highway 71 to BSA camp portion, is a category V+. This portion of Jones Creek is well suited for kayak paddlers who have been whitewater kayaking and rafting for some time. Don't go whitewater kayaking and rafting prior to first checking conditions; it's treacherous business. A game of bowling is cool at nearby Scottsboro Lanes; needless to say, A trip to Frog Valley is always fun. If by chance you are looking for a bowling alley close by, Liberty Lanes is next to Dekalb County Public Lake. This is a popular site for people from Sylvania; Rainsville Country Club is a golf course nearby. A trip to Buck's Pocket State Park revives the spirit, and in the neighborhood   of Dekalb County Public Lake you find a golf course called Terrapin Hills Country Club.
