This is our second year camping at Muddy Run Park. We traveled some 1100 miles from Florida, in our Motor home, to get here again this year and quite possibly we will do it again next year because we love

the place. This year the weather in central Florida got hot so fast we could hardly wait to leave it, and when we arrived in Muddy Run on June 14th the weather was beautiful, cool days and cooler nights, but as the time grew longer,
it warmed up, enough that air conditioning was much welcomed. Temperatures reached into the high 80`s. June rainfall was slightly above average at 4. 13 inches. Being somewhat familiar with the camp sites we had called for reservations as soon as they were open for business and we encamped at Site #1 (there are over 160 campsites), ours is just a few steps from one of the clean restrooms, laundry and the dump station.

Having family in that area, we held a family reunion at one of the fabulous pavilions with an enormous sized bar-b-que grill, fireplace and electric outlets, Playgrounds and ball courts for the energetic youngsters and of course restrooms available a few steps away.

The

park office is located in the campground store with a restaurant in the area above it.

Non-gasoline boat rental is available at the lake and fishing is permitted with appropriate license that may be purchased outside of the park. River fishing is also nearby, in the Susquehanna River.

In the evening, near dusk, you may see deer in the park or just outside the gates in the wooded area. Groundhogs and squirrels are plentiful most anytime

The park is owned and maintained by the local electric company. Cell phone service is rather iffy and spotty, but available. If I were to add two things to the park it would be, cable TV and internet, because even though you may be on vacation, you still may need to do some banking or just keeping up with the outside world.
