Gandy Creek has a grade III section of whitewater nearby. The 13.6-mile-in-distance Sinks outlet to Cheat River Dry Fork sector is good to raft. When the conditions are right this section of Gandy Creek is an enjoyable section of river for whitewater rafting or kayaking. Check the latest conditions previous to going on the whitewater, otherwise it's not safe and sound. While you're here at Gatewood Group Campground you can take a hike along the North Fork Big Run Trail, and the skiing at Canaan Valley is great. On a great day at Gatewood Group Campground you can take a hike along the Elza Trail, and if   you're looking for some flowing water? Try Big Run. A campground like this is too pleasant to miss.
