The camping area is right along the pristine Wynoochee River. At this campground there are 12 'hike-in' tent only campsites. While staying here you can enjoy river/stream fishing. Since this is a primitive dispersed camping area, there is no water or restroom provided.
Nothing is left except overgrown roads and a couple of holes where there used to be an outhouse.
The falls are picturesque and were featured in a 1961 movie ''Ring of Fire''
Yes the Elwha River trail is only 18 miles away but that is by trail straight through the heart of the Olympic Mtns. And park. Says Anonymous

has been closed and the campground sign, firepits, restroom and tables removed. You?ll have to drive about 15 miles of gravel road to get here. There is a rock pedestal with a missing sign along the Wynoochee road 4 miles NE of
| | the lake near the end of the road. This marks the parking area and access trail down to the falls. The ? mile trail is interrupted with large ditches to discourage access and camping. The waterfall is only about 100 feet high, (maybe less) but very picturesque, with a large clear basin at its base and an outlet scoured through granite rocks. Says Arne
