The Berne to Merritt portion, a whitewater stretch on Nason Creek is 8 miles from beginning to end. This nearby stretch of whitewater is a class IV-V. This stretch of Nason Creek is well suited for whitewater boaters who have been whitewater rafting and kayaking for a bit. You have to check conditions in advance of a trip; whitewater rafting and kayaking can turn hazardous. With its 7,313 foot difference between top and bottom it's a charming great outdoors hiking trail; the Icicle Trail   is 32.7 miles of splendid backcountry trekking.
