The 8 great ski lifts carry skiers up the 1,500-foot height difference at the close by ski area Mt.Baker. Mt.Baker receives an average of 54 feet of snow per winter on its 38 ski runs. A class V, 4-mile-from-beginning-to-end whitewater run can be found on close by Nooksack River - North Fork, the Mt. Baker Wilderness to Nooksack Falls sector. Only those experienced in kayak paddling should endeavor to run this run of Nooksack River - North Fork. Don't go kayak paddling   prior to first checking the latest conditions; it's perilous business.
