There's loads of outdoors recreation available close at hand such as whitewater paddling, hiking, fishing, and swimming, so getting bored is not something that is likely to happen. River Bar Campground is a very popular campground among campers from Packwood. If you have a thing about nature you will love a primitive campground like this one; getting to this primitive campground could be a bit demanding, but it's well worth it. Near River Bar Campground is a glorious 7.6-mile-from-beginning-to-end sweep of whitewater on Cowlitz River, a grade II, this is the La Wis Wis Campground to Packwood portion. This portion of Cowlitz River is suggested for novice whitewater boaters. Don't go kayak paddling in advance of first checking circumstances; it's treacherous matter. A lovely backpacking trail in the vicinity is Backbone Ridge Trail; it's 2.4 miles from start to finish and has a height variation of 1,833 feet. A difficult backpacking trail it is; Backbone Ridge Trail requires around three and a half hours to backcountry hike. Glorious | |
