I recently camped at the Pines this past weekend. It was great. The campground is very secluded and well taken care of. It's also very easy to get to from New Castle. I would recommend this campground to anyone. Says Mike Smith

You really shouldn't spend all your time indoors; you need to get out once in a while; The Pines Campground is a splendid local campground if you happen to be in Virginia. A lot of people camp here so they can go to Jefferson National Forest. Virginia is a splendid place for outdoors folks. The Pines Campground is frequently visited by visitors from New Castle. The fine local attractions and such a large number of things to do will make you happy you came. grade II-III whitewater segment close by, the Route 611 to Craig Creek sector. The Route 611 to Craig Creek sector of Barbours Creek is suitable for whitewater boaters who have been raft paddling for a while but who are not yet prepared for the especially hazardous rapids.
