Check conditions ahead of going on the whitewater, or else it's not safe and sound. The Simpson Memorial Trail is a delightful hiking trail in the neighborhood of La Junta Campground; a lake close by is Latir Lakes. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable things in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. If the weather is pleasant here at La Junta Campground, you can go for a hike along the  
Number 3 Lift Trail, and getting to Red River from La Junta Campground is uncomplicated. This campground is so good.
