| | AMENITIES: Restrooms Tap Water
Hopewell Lake is a beautiful, well-located Campground. Be advised several sites offer little-to-no shade/shelter from the elements. Something else to be very aware of: rules are not enforced. Over Labor Day weekend, in a single campsite we counted six (plus) vehicles and well over the maximum number of people. Also tolerated are lots of noise (one RV'er ran an emergency-purpose -- read: EXTRA LOUD -- generator during ''quiet hours'' on a daily basis), campsite ''hopping,'' and pets galore. Unfortunately there is no separation between RV and tent sites, so if you're tent campers like us, be prepared to deal with rule-breakers
who do so with no consequences. Otherwise, a nice place. Recommendations: 1) Pick a site nearer the front (1-15), and 2) Go when fewer campers are there. Follow these guidelines, and you're sure to enjoy yourself. Says G White (Tue,

This primitive campground is located in an exceptionally wonderful position; water hookups are on hand here. Hopewell Lake Campground is a popular spot with the people from Vallecitos. There's such a large number of things to do at Hopewell Lake Campground including whitewater paddling, swimming, and fishing, so getting bored is not something that is likely to happen. When you go for a weekend of camping at a primitive campground such as this one you're in fact camping. Hopewell Lake Campground is a primitive campground which naturally means that there are quite few amenities. Restrooms are of course available, and primitive campgrounds such as this one could be
