| | are few in primitive campgrounds such as this one. You have to check current conditions previous to going; whitewater boating could become dangerous. There are other places here than Calaveras Campground, for example Deer Lake. If you're here, you might as well pop by Calaveras Canyon; there are delightful locations to discover along the Padre Alonzo Trail. This is such a good campground. There's good hiking along the Perchas Trail, and lots of people from Los Alamos come here. The Redonda Trail offers hiking at its best, and skiing at Pajarito Mountain is one of those things you just must do.
