Hermit Island is easily the best vacation your family will ever make. There are seven white sand beaches, which are not crowded
| | at all. You could easily find that you have the entire beach to yourself. Among the other options, there are hiking trails, biking, fishing, boating, a full marina, swimming, and much more. The best part is that at night, when camping near the coast of the island, you fall asleep to the soft lull of the waves and the gentle summer breeze. It is truly one of Maine's hidden gems, as you will find no other place like it. There is something magical about it, that will draw you back year after year. My love for this place will never die out. For more information, check out the official travel guide for Hermit Island at www.hermitisland.weebly.com Says Peter (see picture)

I spent a week on Hermit Island 2 years ago. This was my 1st time and his 6th. It is a magical place where the stars abound in the sky while the sound of the ocean soothes the soul. Sitting on the rocks at the beach on a star-filled night is as close to heaven as one can get.
There is no place like it. Walking along the roads and paths at night, coming upon deer and owls. Wow, it is truly an experience. We love it. Says Kesta
Hermit Island is easily my favorite place to vacation. I've been
going there every year for 11 years now, and I love it even more everytime I go. I have found that the people I have met there have become life-long friends, and they all share the same love for Hermit Island. It's near impossible
to try to explain why Hermit Island is so great. It's just one of those places that you fall in love with, and never want to leave. There's something magical about that island. I highly recommend camping there to anyone. Says Jen
