There's a good 4.5-mile-from-beginning-to-end category I(II) whitewater segment on Beaver Creek nearby, the Beaver Creek Park N Ride (I-70) to Alternate Route 40 portion. For those inexperienced in whitewater kayaking and rafting this segment of Beaver Creek may be an enjoyable site to kayak. Don't go whitewater kayaking and rafting ahead of first checking conditions; it's dangerous matter. Hiking is a popular thing to do around South Mountain Campground; Appalachian National Scenic Trail is a delightful local trail. | |
