Going for a backcountry trek tops anything; the 11.2-mile-from-start-to-finish Sliding Sands Trail is close at hand; it has an altitude variation of 2,639 feet. A good one and a half days of challenging backcountry trekking is coming
for you along the Sliding Sands Trail. Makaalae Beach is in the neighborhood of Oheo Campground and is a picturesque beach to stop at, and why not take a look at close by Palikea Stream while you're here at Oheo Campground.
