This stretch of Quinebaug River is advised for whitewater boaters of medium familiarity. Don't go whitewater kayaking or rafting in advance of first checking restrictions; it's treacherous business. The slopes of Pine Ridge are so inviting nobody can resist, and you can go for a hike on   the Walkabout Trail. Everybody loves Quaddick State Park, and Mashamoquet Brook State Forest is a forest that you can go to.
