A category IV-V(V+), 7-mile-from-beginning-to-end whitewater segment can be found on close by Beegum Creek, the USFS Campground to State Highway 36 section. This segment of Beegum Creek is suitable for kayak paddlers who have been whitewater paddling for a bit. Of course, whitewater paddling is cool but treacherous; check circumstances previous to going. A fine 3-mile-long backcountry trail having a fine 2,510-foot variation in height can be found nearby. This is the Bluford Trail; it's a pretty hike.
