Applewhite Campground is a primitive campground which obviously means that there are not many facilities. Naturally it could be difficult to get to a primitive campground such as this one, but it's worth the effort. There are water hookups. Some folks stay at Applewhite Campground so they can go to Silverwood Lake State Park.   There's so much stuff to do at Applewhite Campground including swimming, fishing, playing golf, and hiking, so it's out of the question to get bored. Applewhite Campground is a splendid campground to use as a base while enjoying the San Gabriel Mountains. Applewhite Campground is a top choice with folks from Lytle Creek. 400 acres of terrain is on hand to the skiers who congregate at Mt. Baldy in wintertime; 60% of the ski runs are easy while 40% are tough. There is a total of 28 ski runs at close by Mt. Baldy; this ski hill receives 8 feet of beautiful snow every winter. There are 4 ski lifts at Mt. Baldy, and the height difference is 2,100 feet. Cucamonga Peak Trail in the neighborhood   has a difference between top and bottom of 3,105 feet.
