Frankly, if I was the owner, I would have pressed charges against individuals in this group that camped at the campground in August. There were approximately 40 people, which is       a fairly small group and easily manageable in this campground setting. Unfortunately, they showed negligence while staying at the grounds ­ leaving campsites with so many cigarette butts and cellophane wrappers which had to be literally   raked out of the sites, and causing holding tanks to overflow with excessive use of water utilities, which included washing their dishes in the facility showers and bathroom sinks - then lying to the owner when they were asked what they were doing in the restrooms (hmmm, don’t they know about paper plates and how well they work when camping???). After the owner walked into the showers and saw all the food residue and crud left by them washing their dishes in the showers and sinks, he had enough and told them they were not welcome at the campground any longer. And it is because of this, that ''Pam'' and ''Tony'' are retaliating by placing as many reviews as they can to cut down Hickory   Oaks Campground. I am here to say that I know the owner and I know FULLY the situation that occurred with this group. This owner, who is hard-working and always wanting to accommodate his guests, will not dignify their reviews with an answer, as he is a man of integrity. But I feel I must bring to light the truth regarding these slanderous reviews, once and for all. Hickory Oaks Campground is a marvelous place to spend time - it's well-kept, popular with many, many returning customers, and the facilities are of high quality in handling larger groups. The location of the campground is unique in that it accommodates for the many music festivals in the area, as well as EAA, sports tournaments, etc. , by being only minutes away from any of these events. This campground is also geared for those snowbirds who want to return to Oshkosh during the warm months, of which there are several who return year after year to be close to family/friends they have in Oshkosh because of the cleanliness and location of the campground and the friendliness of the staff. I have no doubt that this complaining group will continue to post negative reviews because in their minds, they’re “getting back” for being told they are not welcome any longer. But I say, check out Hickory Oaks Campground for yourself - you'll be able to see who's providing honest reviews and who isn’t.
