The Claytor Lake to State line section of New River is proposed for whitewater boaters of medium skill. You must check circumstances before heading out; whitewater rafting and kayaking can become hazardous. There are great sites to look at along the Fire Trail. A fishing trip to nearby Appalachian Waters Float Fishing and Guide Service is always a wonderful idea, and the stunning marina of Rock House Marina is a magnificent scene to leave dry land behind. This campground is so splendid.
