On Cold River close by you discover the 14-mile-from-beginning-to-end Duck Hole to mouth section of grade II-V+ whitewater. If you are a learner, you should possibly search for a different sweep of whitewater to raft than this sweep of Cold River. Check restrictions prior to departure on the whitewater, or else it's not safe. Some of the water nearby flows, like Little Ray Brook; the pretty marina of Swiss Boat Rentals is a good locality to leave dry land behind. If   you have a thing about the outdoors you'll have a thing about it here in the Adirondack Mountains.
